If you do not have a suitable firearm for any of our courses, you can rent one for the range portion for only $25 plus the cost of ammunition. For pistol classes we provide a .22 caliber handgun and the ammunition (at 15 cents per round.) This is payable in cash on the range day. Please mention in your registration that you will need a rental. Firearms are also available for purchase through our parent company, Black Star Arms.

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting -IL is a face-to-face course divided into four parts: Safety; Pistol Knowledge; Shooting Skills; and Maintenance, Selection and Use. Topics include: firearm safety/storage; pistol components/functions; ammunition fundamentals. fundamentals of pistol shooting; shooting positions; shooting errors/malfunctions; selecting pistols, ammunition, and accessories; cleaning/maintenance; and shooting activities. Toward the end of the class each participant will complete a 50-item open-book test. Ohio concealed carry law will be covered during the class, but participants will not be examined on it. Finally, there will be a two-hour range class with live-fire and qualification. Registration and payment are online via Ticketleap. For additional information, call us at 419-231-5391.
NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting -DL is an online course divided into three sections: Day 1 will be online via Zoom from 6-9pm. Topics covered will include: firearm safety/storage; pistol components/functions; and ammunition fundamentals. Day 2 will also be online via Zoom from 6-9pm. Topics are: fundamentals of pistol shooting; shooting positions; shooting errors/malfunctions; selecting pistols, ammunition, and accessories; cleaning/maintenance; and shooting activities. Toward the end of the second day each participant will complete a 50-item online test and submit it via email. Day 3 will be a two-hour range class with live-fire and qualification. This session will be scheduled on the first Saturday after Day 2. Ohio concealed carry law will be covered during the class, but participants will not be examined on it. Once you have completed the online registration via Ticketleap and paid for the course, you will receive an email containing a Zoom link and additional information.
Intermediate Pistol (CCW 2) is intended for moderately experienced shooters who wish to advance their skill set to the next level. It is a six-hour course that is about 25% classroom and 75% range live fire. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Ohio Concealed Handgun License (CHL.) Topics covered include: situational awareness, shoot/no shoot, malfunction clearance, drawing from holster, shooting while moving, engaging multiple threats, cover and concealment, and speed drills. THE Pistol Challenge is an action-packed Pistol and Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) event. Participants can compete for the fastest time in one or more divisions: rimfire pistol, centerfire pistol, and PCC. The Courses of Fire consists of static and reactive AR500 steel targets at distances of 10 to 25 yards. Each shooter's best time of three runs will be counted. All targets must be hit, but extra rounds can be fired. Participants must register/pay for each division in which they wish to compete. Liberty Conservation Club members will receive a $5 discount if (1) their dues are paid for 2022 and (2) they use the discount code provided via private text communication by the event coordinator prior to registration (contact phone number is 419-231-5391). Certificates and prizes donated by our sponsors will be awarded to the top finisher (lowest time) in each division. (There must be at least five shooters to constitute a division.) Shooters who compete in all three divisions, will be eligible for the title of Top Gun. (The fastest combined times, wins.)
